Bee honey-cupcake
Yup you guessed it. Not only are these shaped as adorable bees, but they are even made out of honeycake!!! As much fun as we had makig them, it was even more fun to eat!
Bee projects
Well of course, since honey is a big part of Rosh Hashana, we learned all about its makers: the honey bee!
Pomegranate
It was interesting to see the inside of a pomegranate. There were hundreds of them,just like our teachers said!!! Now we can understand why it is customarily eaten on Rosh Hashana as a symbol for all the mitzvot we hope to have.
Taste Test
We learned all about the new year and that we eat sweet food (i.e. honey), to ask Hashem for a sweet year. We got to try dipping into various condiments to see which is tastiest. Honey won, hands down!
Apple crafts
Aside from apples being a fruit of this season, it also plays a special roll in Rosh Hashana. On Rosh Hashana we ask Hashem to give us a sweet new year. Therefor, we eat an apple dipped in honey (a sweet food).
Hear ye, Hear ye, the King is coming!!!
We learned, that not only is the shofar an "alarm clock" to wake the Jewish people up to do lots of Mitzvot because our king, Hashem, is in the "fields" in this month; but also, a shofar is used as a trumpet. When a king comes out of his palace, he is led by trumpets announcing his arrival. We too greet our king with a trumpet= our shofar.
We had a royal marching band to welcome the king.

Cutting out the shofar/horns for our Rosh Hashana, "ram" crowns. We learned that a shofar is the horn of a kosher animal, such as a ram.
